nemu
Can't some people afford to buy thier own pillys? so they just decide to aimlessly drift in someone else's trail or are these fiends just obliveint with no nouse of common sense its a big ocean out there but you'll always get some clown go right up the trail and pull up within 100meters why is this so?? or the motorised drift I've seen that not once not twice but a 1000times etiquette needs to be exercised iether buy asking over radio contact or pulling up way way ahead but moreoften than not an invitation will be sent to come join a slick once fish are there I really am tired of it and these boffins need to be educated... rooster
Good post, I think most people that cut a burley trail are just oblivious to what is going on, in my experience in these situations people are busy trying to get the best position for themselves and stumble around the stern of the burleying boats unaware of which way the current is running. They are easy to identify if you shake your fist at them and gesture to them to go around, they always wave back and continue straight into the trail. Sort of like boat ramp ettiquette if people don't read it or are told, hopefully by someone with patience or a friend, they just carry on unaware. ryan
there were a couple of #@$%! at browns yesterday. We were cubing and obviously so and charterboat trolld stright over our lins about 30 metres away from my boat and cut off one pf our lines. Over the next hour he kept moving from spot to spot and managed to park himself in our trail 3 times. We also had another idiot troll about 30 m from our boat, again on the side we were fishing and manged to pick up both lines and strip about 200 metres of line from each reel before we got to the knife and cut the lines befor risking being spooled. The next tim it happens im going to start up the boat, chase after them and drive straight across their lure spread, and see if they get the message. Hi Nemu, Tried to send you a PM but you have this disabled so I am sending this as a reply. Hope the Mods don't get upset?? I'm in the sound business. we sell 25 watt loudhailers, mainly to schools. With the wind they throw 5-600M would cost you $160.00 plus batteries - takes 8 x C cells. cheers Chris 0411 243
abecedarian
And don't forget those bastards in boats that when you're fishing land based off the rocks or somewhere that troll straight past within half your casting distance from where you're fishing . If lures weren't so expensive I think more people would have a go at pulling one of them in, might be almost as much sport as the fish and I think they'd deserve the hook in the mouth more... chocofallon
I think like any sport there are rules and consequences. I think a three strikes and you out rule. Warn them twice with gestures to move out of your way/trail etc. If they refuse I think any one in throwing distance is fair game so after every trip all your left over cubes that have dried out and are no good refreeze. Make sure on your next trip they are mashed and thawed and smelly and on the third strike unleash at there boat it will give you great amusement, get rid of unwanted bait and your throwing arms distance sets a presedent for other berley stealing b#stards
Blood Knot
Might be time this subject disappeared down the berley trail. Closed
