Gday Raiders,

Check out this new Penn reel.

post-6058-1247964898_thumb.jpg

The Torque Spin is made of machined aluminum with a fully sealed water tight body, 7+1BB and an over side HT-100 washers pushing out over 20kg of drag pressure. The reel is available in 3 sizes and 2 colours(black or gold). With a RRP of around $700USD its up there in price but you get what you pay for.

Sexy or what!!!

$700 U.S. :1yikes: At that price, I'll wait till these new Penns are 10 years old and replace my old SS Penns with good second hand ones

Tell you what Tan, Penn sealing up the body of their reels to be as waternight as that speaks volumes for the need to keep water out of reels ay...

Cheers

I would have to agree mate - they finally did it. Maybe they're listening to the market feedback.

They are pricey but very strong if you ask me. The SS models are still way more value for money.

They'll pop up here and there and get cheaper

Very NOICE, Tan - only a matter of time before everyone else has to follow suit & make all their reels watertight as well. Then the prices should become a bit more realistic for everyday anglers. You'd think they would have done it years ago??

Let us know how you go with it! Obviously, if it ever needs any work on it, it'll have to go to Penn Workshops to 're-seal' it (and that is a BIG 'IF'!)

Cheerio

G'day Byron, hope you are well. We've turned our attention back to Bluewater fishing and have given the mighty jewfish a wide berth for now. Been fluking the odd one on lures and getting the odd dusting on bream gear which is always frustrating but also fun. They really love to steal those expensive Ecogear blades :mad3: . Hoping to have a shot at them when the tuna run ends. Have you been well enough to fish?

Cheers

Why are you putting your reels underwater dude?

I dont man but it is a fishing reel afterall - bound to get wet somehow - but Penn reels arent the best when they get wet, although the one pictured boasts to be water proof.

It is a different looking reel - some say ugly, some say beautiful

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder... take my wife for instance, nobody else will! :wife::wife:
