frankie machine
Hey Raiders, I know the smaller blades 1/4 and 1/8 are flavour of the month for bream, but was wondering if anyone uses larger sizes from the beach? I picked up one the other day, 20g and 65mm long and thought it may go alright from the sand. Any advice tips most welcome. Cheers
Catchin Jack
I've used the bigger blades at river mouths to ocean on strong tide runs and have had a little luck with them, am going to try them on the salmon over the weekend, think they'll work a treat compared to spinners. Cheers, Leo
rockfisherman
If you wanna call the beach at Brighton Le Sands a beach, well yes, I have used them on the beach, just the smaller ones...... Got some whiting after doing a Burley run walking South, then fishing walking Northwards.

andrew399
has your hook up rate decreased? Will decrease hook up rate slightly but will decrease thrown hooks dramatically...
Jewdreamer
Hey Guys, what about switching to W hooks, best of both worlds. Give em a go and let us know the results. Also when there is weed about they generally give less problems. Cheers Chris
xtosea
Good idea, just want to ask, are scents essential on these things? Or do they work straight out of the box as they are?
monch
Good idea, just want to ask, are scents essential on these things? Or do they work straight out of the box as they are? Pretty sure fish are mostly attracted to the vibration and general action of the lure, scents seem abit suss to me. Then again if won't hurt much if u are willing to try the add-on scents, maybe just your wallet.
rockfisherman
Still though... The bigger type Blades just dont get the same frequency of flutter going as their smaller brothers...
Scienceman
I was thinking the same thing and bought a couple of the bigger sizes to try for tailor, salmon and jew. Only had one session so far in the surf and a good size tailor nailed a gold blade but got off doing some acrobatics. I'll definitely be testing further though.
