Off out this Friday to try our luck. Going to try Coal and Candle area, I alternate between Bayview and Akuna Bay for launching. What do you get in Coal and Candle this time of year, any particular tides or methods I should think about? Any input appreciated.

The water up there at this time of year is usually crystal clear and ice cold :frozen: so I don't fancy your chances but your got to be in it to win it. Fish in close to any rocks with a good covering of oysters for bream, jackets, wrasse, a live bait out may get you a Jew, flattie or maybe even one of those elusive hair tail and if your chucking plastic about give the jackets a miss. :biggrin2:

Try flint and steel, drift over the weed bed for a flattie. Ditto for patonga beach, or try west head for a leather jacket :074: they need thinning out. If you launch from Akuna then the oyster leases is the go. The railway bridge is another option. good luck
