Hi all,

Went fishing last week at Avalon beach. Down at the beach at 5.30am. Awsome morning, caught 1 salmon, 1 tailor, and 2 sharks. The sunrise was amazing. The tailor measured 39cm, and the salmon 46. The 2 sharks cut throught the trace.

Will get pics of sharks/tailor/salmon asap

as soon as i work out how to :(

Cheers Young Gun :1fishing1:

Gotta lova Sambos and Green Back's

Did they put on the earials for you??? Thats something to behold when you get a BIG Sambo or Taylor and they go ginh-ho in the shallows trying to shake the hooks

Congrats mate on a fine catch, if you had have caught the noah's they make great BBQ fillets covered in herbs and garlic- YUMMO!!!!!

Good on ya mate - I love catches in the morning from the beach - there is something very rewarding about beach fishing.

PS: I deleted the duplicate post for you.

I absolutly agree Tan. There is nothing better than hooking up a salmon off the beach as the sun comes up and seeing him jump out of the surf. Better than a boat sometimes because you can be into the bacon and eggs within 5 minutes at Narrabeen

Well done young Gun!!

Thanks guys, Nah no Aerials but put up a good fight all the same. Nothing beats a decent sambo on the end of the line, especially with a light beach outfit. But your feet get cold :(

Thanks Tan, New to fishing forums as im in yr 11 at school, but slowly getting the idea.

Cheers Young Gun

Awsome, will keep that in mind john, ive heard great things about snapper fishing.

Have you got any idea on what type of sharks they would have been?

I was told by my dad that they could have been school sharks? could that be true?

They looked 1.2-1.5mish but didnt actually measure them.

Hey Young Gun -

Nice work. I fished Bilgola beach from 5.30am to 8am on Saturday morning. Two guys, four rods, 2.5 hours. Nuffink to show for it, except a beautiful sunrise :) Looks like the fish were in Avalon ...

Do you fish a paternoster rig, or a running rig? (We tried both, and spinning slugs)
