:1fishing1: G'day Raiders,

After my Avoca Beach Session last week that got me a couple of Salmon I could not stop thinking about Fishing.. Perhaps I am a Fish Addict but then again there are much worse things out there that I can get up to

Anyway put a long story short after putting my Daughter to bed the Mrs allowed me to have some free time so of course being a workday I could not do anything special so I decided on fishing (of Course) well squidding is the proper name for it I think down at the hacking.

got there around 8pm quickly set up and away I went.... :1fishing1:

What a night to be out not too cold and no wind at all...

It was on my 2nd cast that I felt the pull on the line and thought bloody weed again :mad3: but I continued retrieving slowly and steadily and yep my first squid of the night... Fantastic.... although he spat ink all over the place and left a massive cloud in the water so I knew that I would not get a second one for a while...

Anyway persisted for about 20 mins zilcho... was starting to consider packing up it was just on 9 and I had one already then a local showed up and we started chatting as he had never done squidding before so I shared a little of my brief knowledge that I had and continued on squidding and bang I had a huge tug like what you would get if it was a Occy or a huge chunk of weed so I started reeling it in and to my surprise a squid... FANTASTIC now I have a feed... well a snack anyway but nothing beats fresh squid for dinner....

It was now 9:30 so I thought that's it for me and packed up a away I went....

I am not too sure but I think these fellas are Calamari Squid can anyone confirm that.....

Regards,

Nathan

Good effort mate. Where abouts in the hacking were you if you don't mind me asking.

By the way, the squid on the left is an arrow squid and the one on the right is a southern calamari. You can tell them apart because the arrow has shorter wings which only go down about half the length of the body whereas on the calamari, the wings are along the full length of the body.

G'day Nathan,

nice inkers you got there mate, especially the southern calarmari. Where abouts in the hacking were you. I fish down there regularly and have had quiet abit of success down at hungry point and on the bundeena side.

Well done on your efforts mate :1fishing1:

HAHAHAHA

Its a small world isnt it...

Yeah my Brother in-Law was cheering about that as I have taken him fishing quite a few times and he has never managed anything.

Ill try and get back out to yowie next week sometime and try again.. If im there when you are and either or us score a squid you will have to show me how this jewfishing works and I will have to watch and learn hopefully...

Regards,

Nathan
