Hi Raiders,

Headed to Avoca again yesterday arvo hopeing for a few tailor on dark but only managed 6 fat salmon in 3 and a bit hours.

Ray R popped down for a yarn and was kind enough to take a few photos of the fist catch of the day.

Was armed with pillies and the tide was an hour and a half from the top and still running in.

Here's the pics Ray R took of the first fish of the day.

Top catch!

Salmon are great fun off the beach, especially when they start jumping out of the water once they know they are hooked

Do you eat them or release. I have heard fishcakes are great but have personally never tried making them

Great salmon Peter!

I reckon if you can average one every half hour then you're doing okay!

It's also good to see that Ray's photos of the salmon no longer make them look like they're been "crumbed" (covered in sand)! :074:

Cheers

Peter

Nice fish Pete, the pic doesn't show the height and girth of that fish,

I can tell you though it was the fattest I've seen by far, it almost looked

like a different species of salmon..

My turn this arvo...
