Avoca Rocks And Beach

Hi Raiders, went for an early fish around the rocks hoping for a fish or two, I was only there for 15 mins or so when I was joined by Peter (mercer007).

We both threw out into the deep blue and it was very quiet, not much action at all, Pete was the first to score a fish, it was the right species but the wrong size, this little reddie went back in.

Then I snared a male baker, Pete chimed in with a small trev and a red rock cod, all were released.

After a while of just hangin' around and chatting , watching a pod of dolphins cruise by, we decided to call it a morning and wait for the arvo session down the beach to see if we could get something decent.

So the arvo arrives and I head down to the beach, Pete arrived before me and he told that his first cast yielded a nice salmon, as I was chatting to him he got another big hit, so I quickly rigged up a pilly tail and cast her out. We stood and waited and waited for things to happen but today was the fishes day off as they were just not biting, all the conditions were good with a rising tide and a great gutter but that's fishing sometimes they don't want to play..

So that's it for now, we had a couple of pleasent sessions and even though the fish didn't play today it was great to be out there enjoying the beautiful day.

Hey Custom,

Beaut Bream mate, well done.

I don't fish north Avoca much but after seeing your fish I may just have to venture up that way.

Do you fish near the rocks there?

Regards

near the new rocks ,there are a lot of things bream love , new growth on rocks that have been covered in meters of sand for years ,the storms start of the whole cycle , washes millions of tons of sand away to other locations ,piles of rotten weed washed up on the beach rejuanavets the sand , worms and lice love the rotten weed ,then it all starts if you read this in to your fishing , you will get good numbers of bream on most beaches on the NSW coast from june to october ,most walk right past them , there is a lot more than just gutters , holes, ,rips along a beach .beaches with lagoons or creak mouth that are closed will fish better in south westerlies winds on the northern ends ,big tide play a very important part with winds as they change the strength or direction of the wind on the peaks of the tide .Some know this but dont go past noticing the tide has chanced and the wind stopped ,that's why the polynesian were such good gathers of ocean food ,CC
