Hello all,

i'm new to this forum so i have a few questions to ask regarding the upper georges river.

i was going to have my first real crack at the river this weekend but didnt know where to start :( ,i live close to chipping norton lakes and have never fished the area so could anyone give me advice on where to find a fish in the river.

i have fished under the milperra bridge at night mainly targeting jewfish but i soon stopped after loosing most of my gear to rocks (probably trolleys etc).

i have also heard there are a few EP's to be caught around the liverpool weir area, this true? any recommended lures and techniques.

all help appreciated

cheers, blake

for jews, I would say you need to go further down the rather, try around Como Bridge area, or Tom Ugly Bridge or Captains Cook Bridge (I assuming land based).

All those places you can get Breams, and a few other species.

Yes, I've heard of people catching EPs up in the Liverpool area around the weir.

Good Luck.

Hi Blake,

I've fished a bit in C/N lakes and you might be surprised at what you cen catch. there's a couple of old wharves on the eastern side. try and get some little brown crabs, fish light early morning or late afternoon into the evening and you might jag a couple of decent bream. don't suggest you try other softer baits like chicken fillet or prawns etc unless you like catching eels. possible even try the creek on the golf course side as well. i've managed some nice nigs up there in the warmer months,

Cheers

Rick

thanks, i have a tinny to get me around the river, never used it on the river though so i dont know any good spots

since you have a tinny, then take it to Como (do a search for Jew and Como here on Fishraider reports, you should see plenty of people who have caught jews there), otherwise head into Botany Bay, there is a good boat ramp at Kyeemagh (at the end of Mutch Ave - near Brighton Le-Sands).

Especially if you're chasing the bream for the table, not sure eating the bream from Chipping Norton Lakes would be the wisest thing to do.

Yer chippo is good for catch and release only but you do get jew's, bass, ep's bream blackfish , lizards and even silver perch if you luck enough up there.

H.B's works best for the b&b fish and 4'' or bigger plastics in the holes for the jews.

Hope this helps. :1fishing1:

haha nah mate... waaaayy off.... In my experiences anyway...

Mate,

EPs are all along the georges, if you have a tinnie I would just try fishing under a few of the bridges on your way along the river, you never know what you''ll come accross but yeah Captain Cooks and Tom Uglys in a boat for jewies would be the go...

Although do some tracking along the georges at night (beware of predators :tease: ) and you never know ;)

Cheers

Ben
