Luke K
Hi Raiders, It was a great morning to be on the water, almost perfect conditions. I took my yak down to the harbour to see if I could catch my first fish on blades. I got distracted from my mission as soon as I hit the water. I couldn't resist throwing on a gulp shrimp in new penny. After 5mins I had my first fish on board, 38cm bream. I spent the next 3/4 of an hour throwing under moored boats for a couple of hits but no hook-ups . So I decided to change tactics and work on using blades .I've only fished with them once before about two weeks ago for no result. Well, within five minutes of switching to blades(pardon the pun), I had my first fish, about a 25cm whiting and I was stoked. Damn I didn't have my camera, I left it in the car and it was to far to travel back. Several casts later I had a solid hook-up. At first glimpse I thought it was a trevally but it did not fight like a typical trevor. As it the fish got closer to the yak I saw that it was a breambo and a 2nd P.B in as many weeks, 45cm . I was stoked to say the least. I didn't have my camera and I so badly wanted a picture of this beautiful speciman. The thought of keeping it passed through my mind but I just couldn't do it, I had to release her and off she swam. I also got a just keeper flatty. Three different species, what a lure ay. Cheers Luke
