How Long Do The Blue Eye & Gemmie Hang Around For?

Hey guys

Looking at all the bottom bashing posts at Browns recently & was wondering how long this type of deep bottom bashing is going to be around for? As in, is there a season for these activities (Which months) or can you do it all year round with a change of species?

I saw the ingenious homemade electric reel & had a brain wave that I might be able to use my electric downrigger to do something similar. Am I running out of time to try this at Browns or do I have a few months still to go on the Blue Eye & Gemmies?

Also, what is a typical terminal tackle setup (I understand sinkers should be monsters that are cheap & preferable detatch on bottom or on hookup)
