Bentstik
While fishing off the 3rd runway yesterday with the old man (see reports) we were just watching the planes landing and the old man was just commenting about the amount of traffic coming in and going out when this Emirates plane coming in was about 1000 mts from the end of the runway on its final approach when all of sudden it just powered the engines and pointed the plane up and banked to the left. I thought shite why did he do that for as looked towards the tarmac and there was a Qantas 747 plane taking off. If that Emirates plane had continued on he would have landed on top of the other plane and there would have been a disaster. It was unbelivable just seeing the whole thing unfold, the plane circled around and got back in line and landed 15 minutes later safely. hottyscotty
i've seen it a few times now, something must be going on in the control tower or pilots just not listening to instructions but they take a long while before doing a turn around, a jumbo dissappeared off to wollongong way
harold
see a couple of days ago, a Qantas plane was landing without its landing gear down. If the on board computer had not warned them disaster would have followed.
