:1prop: Hi guys, was checking up on a few other fishing forums this morning and came across a report from a kayak fishing forum of a bloke's hairy trip to longy this morning.

He was out with his mates in their kayaks getting into some rats, when one guy yelled out that there was a shark. Turned out to be a massive Great White, they all had to raft up and just sit there bobbing around for about 10 minutes while the shark circled. One of the yakkers estimated the shark to be well over 4.5m in length

Apparantly the shark wasn't being aggressive, more just having a curious look, but gee wouldn't you be packing it when you got a shark longer than your kayak circling you more than 2k offshore.

Makes me appreciate my 560 Quinnie that little bit more

Cheers

The whites are a very inquistive shark. One coming up & surveying whats on top of the water is not uncommon. These guys are game, as the littlest disturbance can set one of these eating machine off & you don't want to be anywhere close wheather on a board or in a boat under about 6 meters. I had the burrly bucket ripped off the back of my easy rider in the 70's by one :1yikes: & I couldn't start the motor fast enought to get out of his space.

Regards Jeff
