Hey guys thought we would try for a marlin off sydney today......had one behind the boat.....it took a look at what was on the rigger... it played with the one in close and then hit the shotgun but missed the hook.......it took the pakula that caught a striped at port stephens in march.....it wasnt a huge fish but i was absoloutely gutted it didnt hook up.....how come no one else was out today?....we didnt see even one other boat fishinfg offshore today?.....conditions got better as the day went on.....a sunfish, heaps of dolphins and a few flying fish were also around.....had 23 to 23.5 degree water.... wondering if anyone else can confirm this reading as im unsure if new transducer is accurate? We went today expecting nothing due to no reports of sydney marlin yet? Anyone know of any this season yet? Definitely worth a try and will be going again asap...... any other sightings out there????

Bad luck not hooking up but at least you were out there.

Went out with Ross Hunter a couple of weeks ago, didn't catch anything but one of the other boats had a double hook up, think they got one to the boat. They are around.

Better luck next time

Well done raising a beakie Payatz, bad luck not hooking up. Heard someone caught a 70kg stripey trolling on the shelf 2 weeks ago, the waters quite warm for time of year surprised more reports havn't come through. How far offshore did you get the hit?

Hey mate well done on raising the beakie... shame you didn't hook up. Are you using single or double hook rigs? and what size was your lure???
