dhype Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 (edited) Hi Fellow Raiders Haven't had a fish for a week and was getting a bit twitchy... Sent my mate Pete a SMS and in no time he was over at my place ready for a quick fish on on the upper George's. Hit the water at about 11:30am armed with some new vibes - Pete's using the Bushy Vibe and I'm using the TT switchblades.. we have never used these before but have heard good things about it. Cruised up to National Park walkway and started casting the vibes - on my third cast I nail a nice bream! So vibes do work! We kept flicking out the vibes and SP but only manage mini-me size breams, flatties and chopper tailor.. Drifted up toward Kelso Park and in a moment of lasped concentration I loped out my lure only to hear a girly screech coming from Pete's direction- I turn around to see Pete holding the side of his neck... I took a closer look only to see my 1/4 ounce golden TT switchblade vibe embedded into the side of his neck! OMFG !!! (This is my PB for a neck on a vibe!! hahahahaha !!!) Looking at the vibe hanging off the side of his neck i was thinking - do i cut up his neck to save my new lure or do i cut up my new lure to save his neck.. i was feeling bad for him so chose the later Took out the pliers and cut away the other two points of the treble but there was still one point firmly embedded in his neck... asked Pete if he wanted to go to the medical center to get it removed or if I should do it..... After a little deliberation and not wanting to stop fishing (legend!) - I became a surgeon for the afternoon and pushed the point/bard all the way through and back out with the pliers! Another girly screech is heard.... Back to the fishing we go! Shortly after the "incident" Pete lands a nice bream on a small grub SP and we both continue to get mini-me fish for the rest of the afternoon. All in all it was a nice (wet) day on the Georges!! Regards DHYPE! ps. Sorry Pete once again and you own me a new treble!! Edited December 26, 2009 by dhype
hooklineandsinker Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 at least he preped his neck earlier before the incident sounds like a fun session on the vibes i dont use mine much and have only caught a small snapper on them

arpie Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Hi Dhype Well done on the bream on blades!! Nice one! hmmmm should I congratulate you on your PB neck too?? I bet Pete wasn't laughin' ..... then .... probably will, eventually!!! I hooked my brother Sails/Cam in his hand when I was 'showing him' how to cast plastics - he also forced the point thru & cut it off with pliers ...... OUCH!! Cheers Roberta
Day's Fishin Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Hi Dhype, Is your mate going to tell people that he's going fishing with a pain in the neck when the next time he fishes with you? Regards Jeff
