Hi Diver1 - yeah been raining here since yesterday pm ...... Keith got rained on for all his bike ride this morning - then it tapered off as he got home ...... I should have gone out in the yak then & there ...... it has threatened rain today & hasn't happened! :1badmood: Damn! Missed opportunity! But I worked on some of my fishing gear ...... upgraded one of my lines from 1lb to 4lb braid after busting off that nice breambo yesteerday! :( Should have a better chance of landing them now! Mind you, only been busted off about 3 times in total since starting to play with it, so it is not all bad!

I want to go back to where I was yesterday - lots of hits but not too many hookups!

hahaha Well, I went out anyway & sure enough, even before I left, it had started to spit. It wasn't too bad, so I put a weatherproof jacket on & threw a popper around from shore. I had some hits, but no hookups and then changed to another spot & shot the popper in front of a jetty from the park ...... big splashes!! YES! I'm ON!! It dragged me thru the weedbed, trying to toss the hook, but I prevailed & managed to scoop it from the water! This one was coming home for dinner! :D

Slinky's little reel does it again!! This is the first time I have used my little Jarvis Walker 'spin/fly' rod since I repaired the double break in 2 of the pieces. It works brilliantly! The little reel is a terrific match for the bendy rod.

32cm breambo!

The rain kept getting heavier & there were less hits on the popper, so I headed for home ........ absolutely drenched!!

It was fun tho! :1prop:

Conditions were beautiful out off Longy this arvo, backed off around 4pm and the run back to the harbour was very nice. Pity there wasn't much current so the fishing was very slow with only one legal king and snapper plus the usual rubbish for a solid 5hrs!

Wanted to go out in the yak this morning to fish the high tide before the fizz boats got out & about ...... (sorry Greg! ) but it was raining AND windy! Been raining on & off all day! Boy! Am I over this rain!!!

But my buddies out Merrygoen way just love it - they've had more than 150mm & their dams (which were empty for a year or so) have been filling fast!! They are happy!~!
