rockfisherman Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Had my first Fly fishing outing this morning, it didnt go as well as I would have liked it to go... My casting wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, although I couldnt execute the roll cast, the line kept sticking to the water... Had my first hook up, which I didnt even realise, I was wondering why my Fly wouldnt come out of the water when I was casting...That was because there was a tiny Tailor on the end of it. After rotating different lures and not getting any results I noticed there were some decent sized Mullet at my feet because of the bread burley, they wouldnt take my Flys, so I stuck a peice of bread on the Fly... WOOHOO lol that was pretty good, it released some frustration... I nearly hooked my self in the face a few times and managed to damage my Fly line when the leader cut into it, but....a steep learning curve was conqured. Cheers.
slinkymalinky Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Well done Rockfisherman. You're well on the way. Cheers, Slinky
kingpig Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 If u use some floatant on the fly line it will help get it up out of the water on the roll. Dont use grease this i find effects the line. There are some with lanilan (not sure how to spell it) Cheers
