Guys, Im pretty keen for one last fish before heading to Forster so my last trip before Forster will be Port Hacking tomorrow and im pretty keen on getting a few for the table...

Anyway here is my plan !

4;30 Get out of bed and get gear in boat etc etc etc

5;00 Drive down to Hacking, Put boat in at Dolans and get yabbies by 6;00

6;30 - 7;30 Fish for bream and whiting with yabbies in the channel with the incoming tide

7;30 - 9;00 The tide will settle and we will burley up off lilly pilly baths and put out some whole pillys then try to get some yakkas and set them out all for Kings

9;00 - 10;00 Try for whiting around the flats with the out going tide

10;00 - 11;00 Troll around the headlands for Kingies, Salmon, Etc whatevers around really

11;00 - 12;00 Try Squiding around Jibbion for squid

12;30 Head home, clean, wash boat etc etc and HOPEFULLY clean our catch :)

How does that sound ? :)

Love a good plan. I'd probably go for squid earlier on near sun up. All the rest should be available through out the session. Live squid will be dynamite on the kings.

Maybe throw some light lines out whilst squidding?

Best if luck pal.

Hi Cut loose I gather you'd be pumping along Mainbar in the morning, If so I'd imagine you'd have plenty of water up by 6am as it will almost be a two metre high tide around 7.30am or so up there.... you'd have quite a lot of wading to do, and it might be a little bit late in the run up tide tide for the whiting schools to be at their peak .. the alternative might be to shoot upriver and wade in and pump the little treeless island between Grays point and Lilly Pilli, still I'm not a hundred percent sure if you are still allowed to pump there as you get conflicting stories about where you are allowed to pump nippers in the Hacking, although the last time I pumped the island, someone else happened to be pumping there as well...

Anyway I reckon your plan for tomorrow looks pretty good, don't forget the crab traps tho as a couple of waders who went to Mainbar last night with George aka Cungee George got several blue swimmers around 1am on ordinary scoop nets and quite a few big squid that were so full of eggs they could hardly move...I spoke to George about an hour ago about our Hawkesbury session on Saturday.. There's a bit of a story here... when they got back to the car, Georges hand remote wouldn't work from getting wet while they were wading and they finished getting a tow truck back to Illawong and least they got the feed of crabs they were after and quite a few squid for their trouble as well... By the way, George said there was no sign of any prawns at all up there last night....

Anyway Cut loose, I reckon nippers would go very well say in the 80 feet of water around south west arm out in front the rangers cottage on the run out out and later in the forty feet of water in Burraneer Bay at the start of the run tide in the early afternoon, and you could settle in down there for a couple of hours on your way back to Dolan's ...

Cheers
