mrmoshe
Was at home watching the rain come down most of the day...then it stopped at 3:30pm. I didn't need too much prompting to grab my gear and head down to the lake to see if the rain had affected the fishing..It didn't Gathered some poddies in short order and hopped into the waders and out I went. First cast and the poddie hadn't even hit the bottom when WHAM! Flattie #1 swallows the livie whole and took off on a nice run. Landed him and rebaited and same thing again..It was like they were waiting with their mouths open. Second one in the net..then a third and a fourth..all about the same size..must have been a flattie family outing! One nice bream after that and then it all went quiet. Kept the flatties for a mate who wanted a feed and Mr. Breambo went back. Nice hot bite while it lasted. Tide was outgoing and LOTS of water in the lake with these big tides. Barometer was 1016 (so much for my 1020 theory) Love those last minute sessions. Cheers, Pete

Rush
Goodwork Pete. I'm still struggling to trap my poddies like you, had a session at the lakes couple of days ago fishing with poddies i fished out with small hooks around 13cms. Hardly any hits but did land 2 Flatties around the 45cm mark in a 6hour session. Nice catch mate.........me and a mate have been landing constantly on berkley crazy leg jerk shads in the lake, a 78.5cm lizard was landed on one the other day. Where abouts on the lakes were you fishing?

Finally a relatively dry day here - just saw Cam & his family off as they go north to their camping trip at Grassy Heads - just hope the rain doesn't follow them up!! Weather now Looks good til Sat, anyway! Must get the yak out again!!! Haven't tried to catch any poddies yet, but it is on my list! paulthetaffy
Good to see that the lake is still firing. I might try and get up there again myself in the next week or two - that's if I can get my head out of Kingfish mode (still haven't landed one!)
