jenno64
Hit the water in my kayak at 6:30am armed with smallish poddies and the usual lures, hoping to catch the last hour of the run out. Instant results with 4 fish coming on board by 7:30am. Three of these were on a ZX35 with one hook missing! Headed out into the channel for the run in without much luck. Back over the flats saw two more flatties come on board and the pedal back to the ramp produced two more. Final score was ZX35 4 - poddies 4. The other lures didn't do much today. Four fish between 50-60cm equals nice fillets and the rest were in the low 40s. Ready to have the outlaws over for a feed this week! Funniest thing was hooking a 3" squid on a lure bigger than it. (forgot the camera as it would have made a great pic!) The %^&* took a chunk out of my finger so explained to him that it was time to go swimming with a wide gap hook in his hood. Needless to say he was smashed within seconds but pesky tailor scissored him in half. All in all, a productive morning and not too many boats out. Day's Fishin
Well done mate. I find the little mullet great for flaties alive or dead. Catch just about anything when alive but alas they don't seem to last long in my live bait tank when under way. Regards Jeff
