Havent Fished For 4.5 Years Now (life Story Included) ... Want Advice On Hawkesbury Landbased

Ok my son is now 4.5 years old ... So i think its time to...Head back out fishing for petes sake

Hello first time poster long time reader...

As my topic title says ive been working the 40hrs per week and using my other 128 hours of every week for the last 4.5 years seeing my son grow up (& loved every minute of it) who is about to start school (kindy).

This has therefore caused me to stop fishing completely since 2005. before then i was a avid landbased so called fisherman, mainly around Akuna Bay and other areas around those parts of the Hawkesbury hunting for jewies, hairtails etc.

Now that Ive told you my life story

I just wanted to know if anyone has been to those areas lately (landbased around Akuna Bay, Cottage Creek) , because i'm about to head out tonight to catch low tide and stay till mid morning to have a shot at the run in as well.

But people have told me that those areas aren't what they used to be.. I remember being able to hunt down at least 1 or 2 good sized jewies every 3 or 4 trips from land back in '05

So yeh pardon my jibber jabber throughout this post. But is it actually still worth me throwing out 2 or 3 rods with glow sticks on the tips and to sit there for 6 hours in the dark by myself...dont get me wrong I love it hehehehehe but in 2005 there wasnt many active fishing forums like fishraider (insert plug) , so I thought id try to get a heads up..
