clem
Hey all. I have a mate on holiday from New Zealand. He goes back on Monday. Here is my pickle. I would like to give him a go at catching something good as you all know the fishing in N.Z is extremely brilliant. However my stats are extremely bad. I said to him that we should make a day of it so I am willing to put in the hours. This includes the drive as well. We will be LANDBASED so I was thinking of going to Avoca Rocks? I live in Winston Hills and will pick him up in the city then hit the road. What day looks good this week? Should I go out South to Stanwell Park or Coalcliff? Just general feedback is good however a pm is better Cheers and thanks Clem

You'll have a high tide down there around 10pm and the north easterly would be just about perfect at around 10-15 knots and is rarely forecast as such but north easterlys which bring fish in close in the run in tide usually drop down noticably as dark sets in and just become more of a nice sea breeze.... Take a look at the freshwater part of the Hacking on the way thru where there is an open grassy area a few kilometres or so on your right past Audley, you'll probably see a tent or two along the river and maybe a couple of small boats here and there... If that's the case in January, the Kiwi bloke is better off catching up with the New Plymouth Brethren community on the way thru, the boys are handy scouts but the girls have all inherited fat ankles Cheers jewgaffer
