Aqua Naut
Decided to get up early 6am start on the bay for a few hours before work so headed out straight for livies at usal spot. Burleyed up to bring on the yakkas and nothing came along The bay was filthy dirty and the swells were pumping and straight away my thoughts was going to be another one of those empty days in the bay. Tried the drums Mol point another reefy point just E off the no5 drum and zilch I'm telling you that the bay is empty and the kings will not even venture in if the water clarity doesn't lift. It's been shit for the last 3 weeks and it aint going to change until the works stop. They have realy messed the bay up and it will take along time to recover. Want Kings........go outside!! Tight Lines!
dogtooth
All the work certainly has stirred the bay up . Its a shame considering the bay was fishing so well last year .Guess i didnt miss much staying away . Its only going to get worse along our coastline when the DESAL plant pumps out pure salt water , it salt should have been stockpiled rather than pumped back into the ocean Cheers Dogtooth...... bluebottle18
Where are all the green groups who accuse us of ill doings The G`vt are allowed to pollute this bay with out fear of prosecution and the greens sell themselves out. Now you know why they bought out the commercial fishos with our money Hope you have better luck next fish
pjbink
The high salt discharge of the desal plant is offshore of Kurnell and will not affect the Bay. It will be quickly diluted by the surrounding seawater and the strong currents prevalent there. The works in the Bay are another matter. All the silt certainly hasn't helped the fishing, however this is only a temporary effect while the work is underway.
Aqua Naut
Let's hope so because I've been out several times now and the fishing is definately having a big affect on things now. This season would be the worst on record for the bay. I've noticed Scotty lyons moving alot in the bay too and he seems to be fishing outside more. I think he too is feeling the punch. Tight lines!! Hey Dogtooth, yep your not wrong there mate. The bay has copped a hiding and it's going to take time to recover. The harbour is the way to go or outside the hacking. There have been plenty of Kings tearing up the surface out near jibbon so the hacking is also the place to try. Forget the bay!!! I believe you know my cousin Iro?
