My brother was over from Norfolk Isl for the week.

As we were in the Botany Bay tourny so he came out on the Sunday.

The seas were average and empty.

We managed to get a small beekie on the short rigger and puled off 5 meters of line and then went to the long rigger and done the same.

That was it for the tourny. Very slow fishing.

After going to the tackle shop and being talked into the octo jig by my bro, we got possessed and went out.

We decided to see what the reefs, as in Osborne shoal and the bommie.

It we dry as well. On our way back from Osborne to the bommie just on dusk we left the octo jig out as a lure. Low and behold 2 billy bonitos

We pulled into Jibbon just after dark and started to squid jig. My bro who has not jigged before as about half way through asking how to do it when ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ on my sons xmas present rod. One of those short ugly sticks from tackle word. He was on to a solid squid (we thought).

No it was a solid Cuttlefish.

OMG they are ugly.

We weren’t to sure as to what to do with it, or if it was nice to eat.

A phone call later to a friend who said they tend to be a little tuff and it was a quick pic and back in.

We got back home just after 12pm and we had 2 billies, 2 small squid (one small than my hand) and a sizable cuttlefish (released).
