jawwneee Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 hey guys, new to fishing here and just wanted a few pointers. i was just wondering how to cast properly so that your line is taut rather than very saggy and limping over the water like my casts usually end up as. thanks in advance
tide'n'knots Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 sounds like your talking about how the line ends up after you have casted?? in which case just gently wind up the slack line until the line tensions and the weight of the sinker can be felt. hope this helps pete.
Geoff- Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 ^^ yep. you have to wind the slack in after casting. if your line never goes taut you need more weight (sinkers), but too much weight and you won't feel a fish. start off a bit heavier and gradually drop your weight as you get a feel for it. you don't need much tension on the line to feel a bite, either.
