cameldownunder
Hi I had an inspection from the NSW maritime, and the Officer told me that I need to have the fire extinguisher checked every 12 month, or -if it is stored in an "open" place, every 6 month. Can someone confirm -with link- And if confirmed, where can I have them checked? How much is it to check? It could be cheaper buy a new one
Dusky
Hi Cameldownunder! Yes you do need to have extinguishes checked every 12mths - I had workshops & we had an inspector come round to check the inspection tags (council or workcover??). Yes it would be cheaper for many boaties to buy a new one depending on the size of the extinguisher - if you have a little 1-2kg just fork the $20-$30 to keep yourself out of hotwater & who wants to have a fire onboard & an FX that does nothing! I'm sure you could save the fire part of the insurance and see what they say about having a qualified fireman on board. Cheers jewgaffer
