When i first started fishing i was using reel on the right, but then some one showed me reel on the left and its just soo much better when you have the strong hand controlling the rod...

Why are spinning reels set up in shops with the handle on the left?

Checking photos online - handles on the left.

Good question myocard it's probably got something to do with the way the reels arrive when they reach the handle fitters who are probably chosen from a line up of the shortest and most obese right handers.

You've got to watch it when you're buying an Alvey in a hurry and tipped a cab driver to park on the footpath.

Cheers

That is a tip worth remembering.

You've also enlightened me to the fact that I am qualified to attach handles to reels - something to fall back on :)
