jack29ham
Fishraiders, Got a call from my best mate telling me that he is at one of our favourite fishing spots armed with some bonito we caught from a couple of weeks ago, he said " the water is brown and dirty". Before I could realise what happened I had already got permission from the misses, bought a largie and was parking the car at the spot. I rigged up my new setup (stradic 6000 with a 9ft tirelayo) Threw out the biggest peice of bonnie I could find, It must have been sitting there for about 5 mins and then BANG!!!! My first thoughts of this fish that It could be a nice red, but as the fight wore on and the fish got closer and closer to edge of the rocks it started to wake up. It was a little Rat King around 58cm he was great fun on the new setup. My other mate turned up and we all had baits in the water, we had about 2 loafs of bread out as burley and there was mullet all over the place. There was a feeling in the air that something was gonna happen, I hear "IM ON" and I reel in as fast as I could and then I get smashed in on the retrieve DOUBLE HOOK UP!!!! My mate lost his fish, I think It may have gone legal, My fish was another Rat. So I took out the Midweek Classic with 2 kings, Pitty they were rats but im not complaining. These fish were healthy on there release and swam away to fight another day. Cheers.
