lambo
gday raiders. can i hv a bit of advice pls. my tinnie as a leak in the bottom, where the keel meets the hull. its not too bad, but i hv to switch the bilge pump on for a little while every hour or so, and its a bit annoying. when i hv it out of the water, i put some water in with the hose and can see roughly where the leak is. i'd ideally like something u can pour on from the inside (like araldite which is quite thick and wont flow too quickly but still get into the leak b4 it sets)and not the 2 part expoxy aluminium repair stuff which mite be a bit hard to get right into the effected part. appreciate yr help thanks a lot

WANNAFISH
Or the best option is get someone to weld the crack. Cracks will normally get longer due to flexing of the hull. Pouring some adhesive onto it will not fix it. Which area are u at?

Guest Aussie007
try JB weld it can be hard to find a car auto shop in mount pritchard sells it i think from memory about $25 for two tubes its a 2 part mix sets like steel can be drilled, grinded, tapped etc... i used it on a motor bike i had a few holes going right through the crank cases into the main chamber under the piston i filled up the holes and it worked wonders saved me about $2000
bluebottle18
YOU can also try using Dynel cloth with Epoxy resin two part Follow the directions and it will be better than new MY hull is over thirty years old (tinny) and cant fault the method. Your local boat shop will have all you need and some good advice. Just make sure your hull is bone dry and clean. the preparation is vital for the job to work. IT will last for ages.
