Hello to all fellow fishraiders!

I'm a new member to the site, here is my first post.

Needed a fishing fix so desided to give The Entrance a crack with my mate last weekend.

Armed with worms and my $20 junior rod&reel combo and 8lb mono line we got the fishing session underway.

I was willing to just settle tof a few bites and maybe a keeper.

First cast, get a hit. Second cast, hook up, fishfinger size whiting (released). I'm thinking...maybe good sign, bites give me hope.

Third cast, less than 5min later, BANG yup i'm on i scream! Reeling for 30sec i can feel a lot of weight but no fight, im thinking

maybe no hook up just seaweed as there was a lot of rubbish in the water from all the rain. But then a get a little run, YES i scream

its still on (this is where i star to think..s*#t feels too bit to be a whiting, must be a bloody catfish)

I bit more of a tussle and to my pleasant surprise comes up a healthy looking 44cm whiting :1yikes:

Great fun on the light gear!!

We fished for about 2hrs with plenty of hits, i got two more whitings in the low 30's.

As the weather wasnt great we decided to call it a day and i felt like i couldnt complain with a short productive session.

The fishing gods must have been looking after me haha.

So the dinner was sorted for the weekend with some chips and a few cold ones
