Bar Up
Fishraiders, Just wondering what thoughts you have in relation to selling my boat? I have been tossing up whether to put it on consignment or to advertise online. I haven't spoken to any boat dealers yet to see what sought of fees are associated with consignment and would be interested if any Fishraider has gone down this path. Stacer560
bar up - it deoends on your price range? If its a trailer boat, and under $25/$30k give it a go. If its $50k then maybe look at option 2. But generally, boats between $15k-$25k move when well priced for the package and condition it is in. GregL
If it's a newish boat get a professional to sell it for you. It saves you money and time in the long run. A dealer will sell it as they will take people for test runs and they do get more people threw the door than your own back yard does. My last boat was sold in 3 weeks and for $5k more than I expected which was about 10% extra! A friend went threw the same dealer and got rid of his after 1 week and he had it personally up for sale for the last month or more and got $4k over his original advertised price Greg
a boat
Hi, we sell alot of boats on consignment and it is a painless experience for you. If the rig is tidy and you want a fair price good boats do not stay long and selling on consignment you do not have the hassle of guys coming to your place or having to run the boat with them. Better still on consignment you do not have a guy come with his "expert" mate that thinks he knows everything but really knows very little. PM me if you want more details, Cheers, Huey. Bar Up
Well I ended up deciding to advertise it on the internet to see how I would go. Welllllllllll The boat was advertised at 8:30pm last Saturday and was sold by 10:00am Sunday morning. I am now thinking that I should have asked for more considering how quick it went. Only issue now is I have this big empty space in both my shed and my heart....
