Bella Boats

Hi all,

The wife and I have been looking to add to our collection of boats now for a while and came across Bella Boats at the Rosehill Boat Show today. We have been looking for something that will fit both fishing (for me and the boys) and family outing (when im not fishing!) style for a while now and this thing came the closest we have ever come across. We were looking at the 21ft model and its an excellent boat for its price, with all the bling and extra's under $75K.

Does anyone own one on here or know of them as your feedback would be appreciated.

Hi, yes I saw them at the show and they looked OK from a distance and a customer of ours had a price list he was showing me B4 the show and at $34K for a 21 foot (i think) HT hull that is a very good price but not sure about build quality-chinese made, not sure about service back-up and the reale will not be good. I had a close look at them on Sunday morning B4 the show opened and they are narrow and light weight for their size and with the package this guy was showing me with only a 115HP on the HT boat it is underpowered and my best advise is water test the boat in roguh water to see if YOU like it.

Cheers,

Huey.

Hi mate, i had a look at at the show also..... Something about them spelt trouble to me. Too good to be true i think. For a boat that size they were under-priced. Upon closer inspection i wasnt all that convinced, the teak (look-a-like) flooring, hinges and light weight construction certainly didnt give me that "well built" feeling when i stepped aboard.

As huey said, the CC that was on display would have been underpowered with that 4stroke.

Whilst they look really nice, i would take one for a ride first.

They have them down in Birkenhead Marina in Drummoyne.

Yesturday while waiting for my lunch to be cooked I went down and had a quick look at a centre console they had out the front. My first thoughts were the same as Huey's and Billy's comments on light build quality but for $50k for a boat motor package at 21ft it's worth a look if your after a more pleasure boat style than a fishing boat.

Not really sure on lounges at the fishing end of centre consoles, it sorta takes a way the versatility of them and then I don't see the point of buying that style boat if that's the case. Clear flat decks give you room and safety whilst at sea.

I couldn't agree more Greg. I had a centre console that came with a step up come casting platform for two and had a comfy wrap around bow lounge which was an ideal place for me and my sons to sit and relax while monitoring our rod spread. Whenever we intended going out around the corner, the bow lounge was taken out. The boat came with a good supply of grab rails, but the step up platform made you knee high and wouldn't have been safe to fish off even in a normal swell without having a set of those wrap around safety rails that were on that boat up north that you fished off. I think a suitable boat that is mainly used for estuary fishing could do with a couple of those pull down side chairs in the bow area, but I reckon either way boat manufacturers should install enough well placed grab rails in the first place particularly on the estuary boats they claim can be used outside and they should also place more emphasis on safety for all their deep sea boats during manufacture and especially the open tiller steers that they sell as a basic deep sea package .

Cheers

So true Jewgaffer

Some boat designes just don't make sence!

Why for instance are boat batteries installed in the rear bulkhead under floor in some boats? That's where all the water ends up!

Offshore boat's need good acessable safety gear, why not build lockers for it that holds it all in one place. Epirbs, hanging locker for life vests and holders for firstaid kits and so forth...... Not just a storage well that you have picked that still leaks water.

Sorry for the vent, ahhhh better now.......

Long day selling fridges today lol
