Lake Maquarrie

Wasn't the best weather leaving Sydney after work Friday night to drive up to Lake Mac and meet up with Big Max for a fish , raining and the usual Syd traffic, Took me 1hr 15 min to get from the Anzac bridge to the freeway , not the best start to a weekend away . Finally got there and it was still raining set up the swag and sunshade in the rain had a feed with Max he told me of the great session he had just had this arvo and that amongst the bag he caught was a couple kilo plus flatties and a big bream well over a kilo . Excited and keen despite the rain , I knew I should have and early night and off to bed it was . Woke up to pretty good weather and the ramp at Mannering Point caravan park was pretty good , we were off and fishing , found some weedbeds very quickly and Big Max asked me to put the plug in his live well . When I opened the livewell the first thing I saw was a massive bream head , HUGE then I was hit in the face by the stench like a right from Tyson, whilst listening to Max laugh his but off .Made him throw it over the sideand then we started fihing and we had our first fish in about 5 mins , we moved around a lot that day and found fish in quite a few spots around the bays and easily got our 5 but we couldn't crack a kicker fish . We fished a bit of surface early then shallow divers and the occasional blade. Sunday was the same thing again moving around looking for spots but couldn't find a kickerfish . Had a great weekend and we were lucky with the weather as it held off all weekend and their were some ominous looking clouds but luckily we kept dry .

Nice report Bubba. Nice pics as well mate.

Max's Hornet would have felt a bit slow for you I'm guessing. :biggrin2:

Were you pre fishing for the next comp?

At least you stayed dry. It hasn't stopped raining here for weeks now. :ranting2:

Cheers,

Grant.
