Hacking Lb On Fire

Hey Raiders,

Today i went afterschool again down to one of the local hacking wharves. The conditions were alright and as soon as i started burleying i literally saw hundreds of slimeys at my feet  and they were all around the 40cm mark. First bait down gets mauled by 20 of them and i brought a decent one up. For the next half hour i got one on every cast, i started getting bored and thought there must be some predators around with this amount of baitfish :1Lighten: . So with the 10 or so larger ones i kept,i stripped them up and rigged up my other rod and flicked it just beyond the bait ball. I rigged on a plastic just to test out new manouvres and to see what they react more agressively to. While i was mucking around with the slimeys my other rod had something hooked but it wasnt going all that hard.I thought it would just be another slimey but when it surfaced it started to liven up with a few short runs between boat moorings, it ended up being a nice bonito at about 45cms  . While i was re-baiting i saw a rat king in between the slimeys :1yikes: . I flicked the plastic at it but to no prevail :( . I flicked another strip out behind the bait ball and about 5 minutes later i got another bonito, slightly smaller at around 42cms. I changed the rig on the other rod again to a lightly weighted paternoster rig with a bigg'ish slimey fillet on it and while i was playing games with the slimeys the rod started to bend slightly so i did the hookup trick and landed a nice bream at 28cms :1prop:. After another 20 minutes i ran out of bait and at the same moment i realised that i forgot to do my maths homework so i grudgingly decided to call it a day, but also with a tasty meal in the bucket.

Tally:

2 bonito: 45cms,42cms

1 bream: 28cms

And an uncountable amount of slimeys.

Cheers,

Seriola Lalandi,

You always seem to find the action seriola, whether it be in the hacking or the harbour, great work

Would love to have some fun with large slimies, or small ones for that matter.

Would this happen to be at THE wharf?

sounds like a really awesome session there. I miss getting into those big slimies. Have been looking forward to the colder season again for these big ones to appear close to the shore again... Hopefully soon I'll be as lucky as you and get in amongst the action somewhere down at Port Hacking... Mind if I ask you what "that" wharf you may be referring to... I fish at the Port Hacking quite frequently and went to all (I think) of the public wharves, and only catch slimies at 2 of them
