Novicefisherman
Hey Fisho's After a month of fishless sessions finally broke my duck with this brown groper weighing in at a bit over 2KG's. Finally got the feeling back! Taken on a red rock crab. Put up a good fight and pulled like a freight train. Happy to catch this one. Cheers

tuffy
Wow, nice fish - and an unusual catch. Have a look at the huge paddle tail on that thing. Would of pulled harder than a Kenworth. Where'd ya get him - rough location , that is. Tuffy Edited March 17, 2010 by Tuffy
tide'n'knots
well done mate their first run can just about pull your arms off eh!I have found the key to groper is (if you can stop their initial run) to get them to the surface ASAP and usually they give up fairly quick after that. But that can be easier said than done! congrats mate its no mean feat landing a groper from the rocks! pete.
spongy
Nice fish. I have seen plenty of them when spear fishing. Illegal to spear though. Are they good to eat?

They sure do pull hard.I tend to let em run and hope they dont bust ya up, and then whine in quickly. but there always a few more runs down towards the reef. can't beat that feeling.
