Squid In The Hawkesbury

Gday Raiders,

Im heading to the Hawkesbury early Sunday morning til about 10am and wanted to know where in the system I can catch some squid.

We'll be heading out from Apple Tree Bay and can go up to Lion Island if necessary.

Mate the first bay after west head heading up towards the Hawkesbury on your left usually has a few nice ones at the back of the bay near the light green weed bed.

Careel bay in Pitty along the weed bed drop off behind the moored boats is worth the extra drive. They can be that thick once located, just throw the pick out and squid away!

I have caught a fair few squid at high tide right at apple tree bay just casting off the wharf thing... could be worth tossing a squid jig around there just before you leave! I have been there when they were everywhere - caught them on hard body lures and soft plastics!
