Jewfish Bait

When using squid as bait for jewfish do you bait the whole squid on the hook or cut it into pieces?

I am assuming you are using dead baits. It depends if its a small squid say up to 10 cm I use whole. If it is larger I half the bait and grab a knife and cut the end to look like a torn curtain to add a bit of a stimulate.
