sadamson
Hit the bay at first light this morning with one of my buddies from work. After scooting across the bay in perfect conditions we headed for the oil tanker mooring at Kurnell.Draged lures half away with no interest at all.We hooked the regular under size reds and then my heavy line darted off. After a short battle and to my total surprise a 36cm Samson fish comes to the surface.I was over the moon never caught one before couple of snaps and back it went.Things were very slow so we moved into the shallow water near Kernell i wanted to show Paul how blades work.We started to drift, my first cast with a Bushie Devil Fish Blade it was in the water about 30 seconds and i was on up came a 50 cm flathead Paul could not belive it 2nd cast a 10 cm red, small but still a fish. Then on the 4th cast a tiny Cuttle fish grabed the blade. It was as big as the lure i lifed it into the boat and it covered us and the rear end of the boat in ink Not happy but live cuttle fish i will get mine back.By this time Paul was talking about getting a light flick rod.We moved across to the oil wharf droped the anchor and sat in the boiling sun and waited,Then my overhead made that sound that all fisherman love i was on and i knew it was a king we netted a small 55 cm kingy my first in this boat. The 3 young guys in the boat next to us could not belive their eyes when i put it back. Then the matter of the cuttle fish that inked us well he was converted into a 47cm flathead had a great day a lot of water between the fish better then being at work.
