Solo Session At Botany

Recommended Posts

Hey guys hit the bay again this arvo for a solo session because my mate had to pull out because of family commitments.

I decided to try my luck right in the middle of the bay in around 4 m of water and it was a slow start with only a couple of pinkies, decided to get a little closer to towra (about 500m off) and found a few nice trevally dropped a nice flattie and landed this nice and fat bream

I have been having great luck recently with the bream and most of them coming from either 2inch berkley jigging grubs in watermelon or the ecogear zx blades

I threw the larger bream back along with around 8 trevally but kept one trev and another 2 nice sized bream 35-37cm and went to my mates house to have them for dinner! yum!

Im hopefully goin out to lave cove to try that out tommrrow so hopefully ill have a good report for you guys

Cheers

Pete

Breambucket, looks like you're living up to your screen name!

Seems like you fish the deeper water quite a bit. Must try that too next time. I'm usually closer to shore in 2-3m of water when I'm around Kurnell and usually over the weed beds as well. What size/weight jig heads do you use? Heaviest I can find are 2gram squidgy jigheads on No. 4 hooks for the 2" grubs. Must explore the Towra area as well ...

Hahah Thanks mate! The name is one part my brother inlaws nick name "bucket" and we like catching bream so thats goin to be my boats new name after i fit the casting decks, electric motor and stuff so the name is sort of fitting i guess :biggrin2:

Yeah i use the 2 gram squidgys and sometimes i think they can be too heavy, i use there 2gram 1/0 jig heads when i fish the sticks with 3 inch minnows

Deffently try towra as i get plenty of trevs there and around the hot water outlet as well
