Prev
I was out LB fishing with a mate yesterday. We saw huge leather jackets floating in the water at 2 different locations near Manly. They were still alive but just about to die. They were both about 40cm+. Anyone else see something like this or was it a freak coincidence? Gorms
yeah we saw about 4 or 5 small ones upside down at the colours last week. Only Leather jackets so cant be a coincidence.
prefertobefishing
I saw one as well at Little Manly beach washed up about 40cm. The only coincidnece is that other predatory fish don't want them as much as anglers do. This means that leather jackets are the only marine species that live a long and full life and only die of old age.
framedtrash
alot of the time there unwanted bycatch from trawlers so they just get thrown back either dead or dying
