Well poppers and stickbaits are the go but dependant on your tackle and budget as to what models and weights to buy.

Targeting these fish you should be looking at 80lb as a min, 100lb as standard and 130lb as heavy. Long 8ft popping rods will give you the casting distance you want with 100gm+ lures. Learning how to rig up a popping outfit with 150lb+ leaders that cast threw guides is another thing you might have to do too....

Do it right and it's one of the most addictive forms of fishing, do it wrong and it's pain and very expensive!

Bring these as a starter:

Poppers- Halco Rooster poppers 195 Haymakers (Any colour- they all work)

Halco Rooster poppers 105 (Perfect for smaller fish inside the lagoon)

Minnows- Rapala CD-9 and CD-14 (Most colours will work)

Softplastics- Any big (5-12inch) plastics work- Just have heavyduty jigheads.

All lures including poppers should be re-fitted with strong (Decoy) split rings and Owner 66TN Trebles.

Have fun!!!!
