Actually it is a repeat of an aprill fools joke from this year, and no its not bad editing lol! Havnt done Latin since school but this cracked me up. You will also find that the tele repeats its fishing reports on the odd occassion, especially when someone is on holidays.

I would think it more likely to be bad editing than a repeat April fools joke 21 days later. Makes no sense at all.

Don't forget that many of the fishing reports you read in any paper are actually put together from the writer taking snippets from Fishraider & it's members & are usually a few weeks old.

Forget the newspaper fishing reports. If you want up to date info on what's biting then you have found it here!

Cheers,

Grant.

As i said it is a repeat of an aprill fools joke from this year. If you dont believe me get a copy of the paper from the first of april. Why do i know this because i rang the paper that day TO CONFIRM THE TYPO and was greeted by the term April Fool! If you want the name and number no prob lol.

I do believe that it was an April fools joke that they ran on the 1st.

I don't believe they ran it again as another joke.

It was a huge editing stuff up as Donna said. Do you honestly believe they did it on purpose as another joke?

Cheers,

Grant.

This is definately bad editing, it is NO joke believe me. The author will have a login to that area to type in his report. Here is what it looks like in a common publishing template form(click on it to enlarge). You will see the Latin text that is to be replaced. This is not a "typo".

Definition: One type of nonsense text used as a placeholder is the Lorem ipsum text. Used to check layout and overall appearance before the actual text is inserted, it is based on a piece of classic Latin literature. Lorem ipsum in page layout provides a stand-in for the final copy in templates and page layouts. It's also used to display type specimens.

The only fool is the editor that did not check his section/page before print. If they have done it more than once then that IS a problem.

To add cred to the thought that it was an editing stuff-up, the 'Beachwatch' section on the same page had the same crazy jibber.

I have seen it a few times over the years.

Anyway, always remember 'culpam poena premit comes'
