Fishing Museum

There was a fishing museum largely based on game fishing which was once located at Birkenhead. Peter Goaby who is one on the legends in the sport and now a Life Member in IGFA initiated it. It moved to Pyrmont to where the Breville company is located and has really been a storage place for all the fish casts, tackle and photos. The owner of Breville was good friends with Peter and to the sport of game fishing and kindly permitted the use of his building. It was always the hope of Peter to one-day find a new home for the artefacts

There were discussions many years back to try and get the museum up and running again and it may have now happened or the phone number was never taken out of the white pages.

Suggest you call and find out if it is alive and well. I would be interested to know.

There were some fantastic casts of huge white pointers, thresher sharks, and unbelievable cast of an enormous tiger shark and then there were marlin tuna Wahoo, dolphin fish etc. Bob and Dolly Dyer memorabilia as well as many of the greats who pioneered the sport up to our modern day champions.

Your children would love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
