john.saqqa
Hi Guys, I am in need of some help! Me and my mate have been trying to catch a kingfish or Jewie for the last 2 years with no luck! We dont have a boat and have been to numerous places around Sydney with no luck! We usually go and catch yellowtail for live bait then go to a spot which we have heard good things about for catching kingies and Jewies. Some of the places we have been to are Greenwich, Clifton Gardens, Spit Bridge, Milsons Point, and pier 2 just to name a few. We have had many all nighters with no luck! Any help or advise would be appreciated. If anyone is heading out over the weekend and would like some company let us know... Cheers, John
andrew399
Hey mate, my advice would be to keep hitting the same locations you have been but spend a bit of extra time chasing squid for bait. Also, if your chasing kings you can do away with the all nighters and just focus on dawn until midayish. Make sure your presentation is good with your yakkas and squid and then just put in the hours and it will happen for you!
Piss'n'Broke
Try ballooning your livies (squid, gars, slimies, yakkas out) off the rock ledges around the harbour, middle head, grotto point, south and north head. Dan
luvbigfish
hey m8,i have to agree with dan and greg, with the ballooning of livies, although i fish from a boat these days, when i used to rock hop north whaley produced some nice kingys for me using live yakkas , but be careful its known for its freak waves, 1 got me and a m8 few years back, luckily we survived to tell the tale! cut_loose
Anchor up in a well known Kingie spot and burley up. Float down a squid with no weight and let it swim in the current and fish with really light with a bream rod. I do this but always find the kings go for the Bream gear, Fun non the less
