Breambo22
Hi Raiders, Went bream fishing with my dad on thursday morning at Berowra. Lauched just after 6.30am and proceeded to the first spot. Almost immediately dad caught the first legal size bream. Soon after we caught 3 more. Then it went quiet. After a while we moved to the next spot but no good. We moved again and again but alas nothing except cockeyes. Then the tide changed and we went back to the second spot but this time we were sitting better. We started catching good size bream again. We were running out of chicken breast so I kept baiting with mullet. Could only catch cockeyes with the mullet. So again I used the chicken breast. All up 12 bream today the biggest 35cm. So we were very pleased with this. Funnilly all the legal bream were caught on chicken breast. Peter Edited May 1, 2010 by breambo
Michael Hatte
Nice haul mate, there are some fat fish amongst them. There's an old timer that fishers the georges river with raw chicken breast to, he always comes home with a good catch. He chops it into strips, sprinkles with parmesan chesse and lets it marinate for a few days in the fridge before using. I thought he was pulling my leg but he showed me a few months ago and he swears by the stuff.

You must know the area well. Yeah, Chicken is a very much underated bait for bream and other species. When you consider that that chicken breast is about $11.00 a kilo compared to $29.00 a kilo for Hawkesbury prawns I know which bait I prefer to use. Also "Bluebottle 18" I am from the western suburbs and the boat is at my dads place at Marayong as I don't have a backyard that's whyI generally fish I Berowra & the Hawkesbury. Have been fishing Berowra with my dad since 1975; but it is only in the last couple of years that we are getting consistency on the Bream.
