cut_loose
Gonna try my luck for Jews on Saturday night and am keen to get one. My first step-up is a 7ft rod with a 4000D baitrunner loaded with 15lb mono, I was thinking of running a small pea sized sinker with alot 2 meters of 20lb fluro to 2 hooks to a live/fresh squid/live yakka/fresh yakka butterfly fillet. Is that sound like a good stepup ? I also got some 5" jerkshads i was thinking of running on my little 7ft rod with 2500 stradic with 6lb braid to 10lb fluro. Would you guys run this un weighted ? i was going to flick it thought the berluy trail or should i use a texas style rig ? If not i got some 1/8oz Jigheads on a 1/0 hook ? What would you's use ? Thanks, Gonna get that jewie
rooster
Hi Mate, I'm hanging out to go jewie hunting and was just thinking you might want to up your sinker a little to control the position of your livy or if theres a bit of current, number 2 beans are a good size if theres not much current. Pressuming your boat based if your burleying, 15lb main and 20lb leader will probably be ok if theres no reef or other structure around. I find 20-25 pound mainline more comfortable,

rooster
I was thinking about hitting the hawkesbury, but the georges usually fires about now and the hawkes usually goes quiet for a while. Will probably be different again this year. Good Luck
