Tarana
I do not fish much on HR,but I know some fishermen sent their squid catch to the Sydney Fish Market. We love to eat fresh HR catches and try to find them everytime we go there. Almost everytime there HR bottle squids on sale, sometime big but somethime very small. Once we even talked to the fisherman who offloaded his morning catch the shop. I would not claim myself as amature fisho so not to mention how to catch squid. But there must be somewhere you can catch them on HR.
tide'n'knots
I have seen them hanging around the lit up wharf at patonga but I have also been there and there was zilch! They can be very hard to find in the HR from my experience they can be caught at west head at times but that is a boat spot, if anyone else can shed some light on where to get em that would be very helpful. pete. twoblues
They get plenty in the trawlers up there, but to catch the little blighters I think you have to have very clean/clear water. Therefore, you would probably do best closer to the head of the river. Like from Patonga through to Pittwater and around the northern end of the system (umina etc).
