Centrepin
My dad is not well and not nearly as mobile as he was. So a day out Blackfishing is something to look forward to. Saturday was just a cracker of a day. No wind 23 degrees, slight colour in the water. I love Mooney Mooney Creek. Hardly ever anyone else fishing, scenery is great and Fishing this time of the year as consistent as Blackfishing is likely to be. Archive photo from previous trip. We only had 2 hours of the run out and the best fishing is in the last 3hours of run out. First spot provided lots of fish but only 3 in the bag. We were getting a bit tired of this so moved to next spot and this was not such a great move. Tide was nearly stopped and I know this does not fish at all on the run up so back to the first spot. Now this usually only fishes for the first 20mins of run up on "Normal" tide. So by this stage prospects were not looking good. Now this tide was .65 Low which is higher than we usually fish. The run up did not go as fast as normal and the fishing was just great. Berleyed fish up close to the boat and they were biting well. Dad caught several really nice fish and enjoyed himself immensely. Fished till he had enough and left them biting Ended up keeping 19 fish, best was 39cm with a good smatterin 35+. Filleted and distributed to friends and family. Smiles all round after a lovely day.

Hodgey
Great report as always mate. That last photo is an absolute pearler. I would have it framed and placed in a prominent position in the home for all to see. Neither of you will forget that day in a hurry. Congrats on a great bag of fish, for sharing 'em around ... and for taking the time to get your Dad on the water. Cheers Hodgey
arpie
What a magic session with your Dad, Centrepin! I know that you both would have had a ball & both gone home with big smiles on the dials!~ Just makes me wish that my Dad was still around - he just loved to fish!! Alas, he has been gone for over 40 years now. Maybe that is why Sails & I are such avid fishos! His love of fishing must have rubbed off on us. Well done - do it often - it will be good medicine for both of you! Cheers Roberta
