bluebottle18
Boy how great was the weather today.and the bay was as smooth as a babys B Loaded up with all kinds of bait my buddy and I headed to the drift off Brighton for zero not even a bight. Next stop trev ally for an odd bight but zilch. Decided to drift the centre of the bay and after along wait we finally got our first fish. Buddy Wayne brings in 33cm reddy and I quickly follow up with two just legal flathead. After six hours of fishing that was it except for two small tailor. Drift was slow water looked good. Bait used prawns (in garlic) pilchards, slimey mack fillets cooked prawns and squid strips. Burly was strategically used and was disappointed with the results. very surprised at no throw back bream today. Although the desal plant has gone I believe it has effected fishing on the bay.Although I did not fish Kurnell which I normally do I believe it has sent fish to better pastures. Have made this comment before. As we fished with 6lb and very lightly weighted sinkers we expected a better result. Yes I know nippers are the gun bait but were not available.
