hambo692
Hi Raiders have currently got a Silstar exon reel (nice and cheap) and need a new rod for it. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? Definitely no more than $150. Was looking at Shimano dropshot. Thanks Edited June 3, 2010 by Flatboy

hambo692
Don't have the box but think the line it came with is around 5 kg, don't think it even had a size on it. Probably EX-50 but came line fitted. It will mainly be used for bait fishing for flathead, jew, whatever. chhers slinky

slinkymalinky
G'day Flatboy, For that reel, I'd probably get a Shimano Starlo Stix, or Catana if you can still find one. They're good value rods and perfectly suited for luring and plastic tossing. It might make sense to get one of these better value rods and save your $$ for a reel upgrade down the track. You might notice the performance difference in upgrading to a $150 reel more than a $150 rod. If you don't know the model of your reel, just take it along to a tackle shop and get them to help you out. Give Global Tackle a call... http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=48945 Cheers, Slinky
